Head of School –
Dr. Arthur J. Hunt
Dr. Arthur Hunt brings his skills as both a pastor and head of staff not only to Cornerstone EPC, but Cornerstone Christian School, as well. In addition to his duties as a Caring Ministries Pastor, Dr. Hunt now serves as the Head of Cornerstone Christian School. He also assists in worship and teaches on a regular basis. Dr. Hunt received a Bachelor of Theology degree from William Tyndale College, a Master of Divinity degree from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School, and a Doctor of Ministry degree from Covenant Theological Seminary. He and his wife Linda have three adult children and seven grandchildren.

Principal -
Mrs. Sandra Nettleingham
Mrs. Nettleingham received a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education with an emphasis in Music from Cedarville University. She completed her Master of Science in Administration, majoring in Educational Leadership, at Madonna University in 2007. Her teaching experiences include English, Music, Creative Writing, Yearbook, Speech, Drama and Preschool. Mrs. Nettleingham taught music and preschool at CCS before moving to school administration. Her commitment to educating students with a Christian worldview has led her to Cornerstone Christian School as the Principal.

Preschool 3s & 4s & Beginnergarten
Mrs. Nancy Cullen
Mrs. Cullen received a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education from Michigan State University and a Master of Education degree from Kennesaw State University in Georgia. She taught Kindergarten in Georgia for seven years and worked for the St. Clare Shore District as a Kindergarten-3rd Grade Reading Intervention teacher for two years. Her professional activities have included Language Arts Curriculum writing and participation in both Curriculum and Kindergarten Assessment Committees, among others. This is Mrs. Cullen's fourth year teaching Preschool and first year teaching Beginnergarten at CCS.

Preschool Aide –
Mrs. Linda Hunt
Mrs. Hunt joined the CCS staff in January, 2010 to serve as a Teachers' Aide. She has attended Michigan State University as an Elementary Education major and brings to our school over fifteen years of experience as a Preschool Aide prior to working at CCS. Mrs. Hunt and her husband Art have three grown children and seven grandchildren.

Kindergarten –
Miss Kristen Michels
Miss Michels received her teaching degree in Elementary Education from Hope College in Holland, Michigan. There she had an opportunity to work with a diverse group of students in preschool, kindergarten and fourth grade. Other experiences include substitute teaching, assistant director of Hope College Summer Science Camps, serving with Pray America in Guatemala and leading a middle school small group at her church. In Miss Michel's free time, she enjoys running, reading and playing piano.

First Grade –
Mrs. Karen Ollar
Mrs. Ollar received a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education with a major in Social Sciences from Spring Arbor College and a Master of Arts in Reading from Eastern Michigan University. Her teaching experience includes pre-school and elementary through sixth grade. Mrs. Ollar has taught overseas for many years, as well as in Michigan, with experience totaling over 20 years. This is her eleventh year teaching first grade at Cornerstone Christian School.

Second Grade –
Mrs. Linda Ellens
Mrs. Ellens received her BA in Elementary Education from Dordt College and her Early Childhood Endorsement and MA in Education from Spring Arbor University. Before coming to CCS, she taught preschool, first through fourth grades, and some selected middle school and high school classes. Mrs. Ellens has taught in Iowa, California, Minnesota and Michigan. She has been married to Rocky Ellens for twenty-five years and they have two grown children. This is Mrs. Ellens' third year at CCS.

Second Grade –
Mrs. Cheryl Abraham
Mrs. Abraham received a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education from Michigan State University and a Master of Arts in Reading from Oakland University. She taught first grade and second grade for ten years. She has been married for 13 years and has three children, all of whom attend CCS. She loves to travel, read, and scuba dive. This is Mrs. Abraham's third year teaching here at CCS.

Third Grade –
Mrs. Ashley Bansale
Mrs. Bansale recently graduated from Eastern Michigan University with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education with a major in Reading. She has experience working with children in a number of capacities, including running the Skate Park ministry at her church. Her favorite experiences have been her mission trips to Kenya and Argentina. She enjoys playing volleyball and softball and living with her husband in Fowlerville. This is Mrs. Bansale’s first year teaching at CCS.

Fourth Grade –
Miss Megan Greene
Miss Green received a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education from the University of Michigan with a major in Language Arts and a minor in Mathematics and a Masters in Reading from Eastern Michigan University. She has experience teaching K-6 students as a substitute teacher, has served as a tutorial teacher and has taught summer school to 4th-10th grade students. Other experiences include serving with Youth for Christ in Honduras teaching English as a second language, teaching a Bible Study at a young women's prison and teaching at-risk elementary students in Ypsilanti. This is Miss Greene's sixth year teaching fourth grade at Cornerstone Christian School.

Fifth Grade –
Mrs. Sara Bykowski
Mrs.Bykowski received a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education and Life Sciences from Tri-State University in Angola, Indiana. She has 15 years of teaching experience in self-contained elementary grades, middle school Science and English as a second language. Mrs. Bykowski has also been a presenter at educator workshops on the topics of elementary school science, differentiated instruction and connecting Science with Literature. She was a State of Indiana nominee for the Presidential Award for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching in 2005. This is her seventh year teaching at Cornerstone Christian School, where she also coaches cheerleading.

Middle School Language Arts -
Taresa Franklin
Mrs. Franklin received a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Eastern Michigan University. She has endorsements in Language Arts and Integrated Science.
Mrs. Franklin began teaching middle school language arts at Cornerstone Christian School in the spring of 2011. She was a substitute teacher in Livingston County public and christian schools before joining our staff.

Middle School -
Miss Joni Miller
Miss Miller recently graduated from Olivet Nazarene University in Bourbonnais, Illinois. She earned a degree in Elementary Education with endorsements in math, science, and language arts. She resides in Haslett, Michigan, as she prepares for her summer of 2013 wedding. Miss Miller loves traveling, reading, playing sports and the Michigan State Spartans. This is Miss Miller's first year at Cornerstone school. |

Middle School Bible, Science, History & Yearbook – Mrs. Jodi Nicholas
Mrs. Nicholas received her Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education with a major in Science and a minor in Fine Arts from Eastern Michigan University. Mrs. Nicholas' teaching experience includes preschool, elementary and junior high grades, having taught Biology and first-sixth grades in Detroit, West Bloomfield, Ypsilanti, Wixom and Walled Lake schools. She received several graduate level Science certifications through Eastern Michigan University, Excellence in Science Teaching, Higgins Lake Environmental School (outdoor education), Project Learning Tree and Project Wild. This is Mrs. Nicholas' sixth year teaching middle school at Cornerstone Christian School.

Art -
Mrs. Betsy McDaniel
Mrs. McDaniel received a Bachelor of Arts in K-12 Art Education from Calvin College and her Master of Arts in Painting from Eastern Michigan University. She taught middle school Art for six years in the Brighton Area Schools before joining our staff. This is Mrs. McDaniel's eleventh year teaching Art at CCS.

Music -
Mr. Charles Johnson
Mr. Johnson received a Bachelor of Science in Music with a major in Sacred Music and a Bachelor of Science in Bible from Baptist Bible College in Pennsylvania, and has studied voice, piano and organ. He holds State of Michigan teaching certification in Music K-12 grades, an ACSI Professional Educator's certificate in Music and Bible K-12 and he is currently completing a Master of Choral Conducting Performance at Eastern Michigan University. Mr. Johnson was Staff Piano Accompanist at Interlochen Center for the Arts and has taught elementary music and high school ensembles in New Jersey and middle and high school choir and general music in Pennsylvania. This is Mr. Johnson's sixth year teaching Music at Cornerstone Christian School.

Physical Education –
Athletic Director Cori Kurncz
Mrs. Kurncz received a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Michigan, Dearborn and is a certified personal trainer. Professionally, she has worked many years in both children's and youth ministry. In addition to ministry work, she has eleven years of combined professional coaching experience as a gymnastics, fitness, strength, pom and cheerleading instructor. This is Mrs. Kurncz' second year teaching at CCS.

Spanish –
Mrs. Christi Gaertner
Mrs. Gaertner received a Bachelor of Arts in mathematics and Spanish from Valparaiso University in Indiana and her Master of Science in education from the State University of New York College at Buffalo. She also studied in Mexico for a semester at la Universidad de las Américas. She taught Spanish at the middle school and high school levels for 8 years in Missouri and New York before joining our staff. She also currently teaches Spanish at Shepherd of the Lakes Lutheran School. Mrs. Gaertner’s husband is a pastor, and they have two young boys. This is Señora Gaertner's third year teaching the middle school Spanish classes at Cornerstone Christian School.

School Secretary -
Mrs. Clarice Rose
Mrs. Rose attended Spring Arbor University, majoring in Nursing. She has served as a children's teacher with Community Bible Study for 13 years, served in various capacities in athletics and actively serves with youth programming and a music praise team at her church. Her welcoming disposition, love for the Lord and capable skills make her a great asset to Cornerstone Christian School as receptionist and school secretary.
